Unless you decide to try and do some encoding or something and want to do other things at the same time, then it might get a little choppy. Put gaming in the mix, and for a completely smooth experience, especially for crysis, you will want 2gb of ram, even at such a low resolution. Even COD4 will perform better with 2gb over 1. Both have lots of physics that are stored in RAM during gameplay. I cant use less than 2gb of ram anymore, i mutlitask too much for only 1gb, that is me, and everyone is different, my comments are from my experience only.
Having a quad core doesnt really make a difference with how much RAM you have. Processor count vs RAM doesnt come into play until you start going mutlisocket, then you should have a gb per socket at minimum. But with a quad core, your set. Thanks for the great response.
