One would certainly think that KTM would have full coverage on him. But I don't know, maybe there are other issues related. I saw another piece somewhere that they were going to do another operation at UCLA. If I find it I'll post it. After being transfered to Loma Linda Hospital to be closer to home, Chris and Patty are doing well, and making good strides in rehab.

This facility is really great and we already feel so much more comfortable and excited about the rehab. He is wheeling himself around in his shiny new "Blais Racing" wheelchair which they plan to paint orange. This facility specializes in spinal cord injuries and everyone who has met Chris, is already very taken by his attitude!

Not sure how long the rehab will be but they will also be teaching me how to help him and encourage that I am there most of the time. I want to say THANK YOU again to everyone putting raffles together, auctions, raffling personal belongings, and all the other wonderful things that everyone is doing. Best wishes for a full recovery. Vertebra lower back broken at MX in Europe. Suffered a 5th. As a competitor you know how to fight - this time it's your mind against your body They're going to get Chris up, standing, and taking steps now more and more.

It's getting better every day! He is having small "voluntary" leg movement with both hip flexors working. They think he may have had his hamstrings doing more stuff last week on their own. Thank you all for reading my updates and being as excited as we are! Dezertpilot Well-Known Member. Such great news to hear! One of my friends just recently got a job working at the center where Chris does his rehab at. Pretty cool he was telling me there was a guy there who raced the Dakar and stuff and I was like whats his name and then he told me.

Crazy he drives 3 hours each way a few times a week just to goto that center in Carlsbad! Total Loss Well-Known Member. Great News! Patty- lets see some photos or vid of the Pismo race when you can. Total Loss said:. Patty, This is James from Vegas, I'm really happy to hear that Chris is back in the dirt and is getting around again. We were pre-runnung that day in Alan's Bronco and were behind them on Sunday.

We waited all morning and assisted the medical people and also managed to help get a helicopter up there.

I really am glad to see him getting around and racing again. Great video. See you guys soon. James Taylor Jenn thanks for the link, it's bookmarked. Patty, something about that video completely puts a smile on my face!!! That's awesome to see!!! Have you guys rigged him up with some extreme chair yet? I've seen those psycho guys doing the mtn bike downhill trails on long travel chairs! Amazing the stuff you can pull off even at somewhat of a disadvantage.

Thanks for the updates! I know there were many many people that stopped to help Chris that day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! Khris - He does have some beefier tires on his chair for the dirt and he might be trying out a "beach" chair this weekend with the big fatty tires but man, all this chair stuff is so dang expensive. I feel sorry for the elderly handicap people.

Everything is a friggin rip-off if it pertains to anything "handicap". It's sickening. Bill Carlos Danger. JPG RacerX1 said:. Ok, we picked up the RzR today and went out testing. It's awesome. Chris is just too excited to race it in Pismo.

It's been a looong time coming. Thank you HRT Motorsports! We are mounting 3 on-board cameras to it and we hope to be able to share the footage.
